Sara Schmook is an experienced and accomplished family law attorney. She graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in English, and in 2003 obtained her Certified Public Accountant status. She worked several years in international accounting and obtained skills that allow her to evaluate finances and assets at the highest levels. She knows from personal experience how difficult navigating the divorce and custody process in the court system can be. Following her own experience, Sara decided that she wanted to use her skills to help people through this process. She attended law school and graduated from the University of Tulsa with a Juris Doctorate in 2012. Following graduation, Sara opened her own office and has been zealously representing her clients in divorce and custody issues as well as guardianships, protective orders, and estate planning matters ever since.
Sara applies all her work and life experience to create innovative solutions for her clients. She brings a dynamic approach to each case in an effort to achieve positive outcomes for her clients. Being both a CPA and an attorney gives her a unique mindset for evaluating her cases and provides her clients with a skillset that very few attorneys possess. Her negotiating skills and experience in high stakes litigation matters are second to none. Sara has found her passion for helping her clients through some of the most difficult times in their lives and it shows in both her case results and clients’ appreciation. She participated in the 2019 Oklahoma Bar Association’s Leadership Academy and has been named as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for five consecutive years.
When she finds some free time Sara enjoys spending time with her family on Grand Lake as well as travelling with her husband and children. You can also find her wearing orange and supporting her alma mater, Oklahoma State University, at any number of sporting events. She enjoys volunteering and supporting various charitable organizations around Tulsa, including The City Lights Foundation of Oklahoma, Gilcrease Museum, and Tulsa’s annual Race for the Cure.
Born and raised in Tulsa, Courtney Driskell is a former DHS Child Support State’s Attorney with a background in serving local children and families in the legal community. She graduated with highest honors and in the top 15% of her class from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2020. While attending law school, Courtney received the CALI Award in Trial Skills. Courtney also competed in and won numerous trial skills courses and organizations in college.
As a single parent, Courtney worked full-time while attending law school full-time and understands the emotional complexities that many of our clients face. Courtney attended law school to work with children and families navigating the legal system. She has volunteered with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children) as well as Tulsa Lawyers for Children. During law school, Courtney worked for the Schmook Law firm and externed as a Licensed Legal Intern in the Federal Northern District of Oklahoma and the Tulsa County District Attorney’s office. As an extern, she worked in Crimes Against Children and the Juvenile Court before practicing family and criminal law at Riggs, Abney, Neal, Turpen, Orbison, and Lewis. After that, Courtney transitioned to DHS in Child Support Services as a State’s Attorney. Her time at DHS gave her an inside look at how the State prosecutes child support cases, which is a huge asset in assisting our clients with child support matters and ensuring our cases navigate through the DHS system swiftly and smoothly.
She is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, Tulsa County Bar Association, and American Bar Association. She is in the OBA and TCBA Family Law and Litigation Sections. She is admitted to practice law in both Oklahoma state and federal courts. In her spare time, Courtney enjoys spending time with her son and their rescue Shih-Tzu dog, Buddy. She enjoys bodybuilding, lifting weights, and eating healthy.
Courtney brings not only courtroom experience and academic fervor to her job but also empathy and compassion as someone who has walked this path in her own life. Her favorite part of this job is connecting with the clients and their families. “Your choice of an attorney is a major decision. It is important to Courtney to work with an attorney that shares her compassion for clients with a drive to succeed and be the best possible advocate for them, so Courtney is thrilled to be back where she started!
Jennifer Whittaker brings 30 years of experience to our legal team. With her background in family law, personal injury, estate planning and civil litigation matters, Jennifer provides our clients with confidence that their cases are fully prepared for our attorneys throughout their entire legal process. Jennifer received her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice with a Paralegal Emphasis from Northeastern State University. With Jennifer’s extensive experience and her exceptional eye for detail, she is an integral part of our legal team. In her free time Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband and her two children. During the summer you can find her in her happy place every weekend at Lake Tenkiller where she hopes to retire one day.
Antonella is our exceptional Bilingual Paralegal who has a passion for helping clients with their legal needs. She received an Associate of Applied Arts Degree from Tulsa Community College, where she completed her paralegal program with honors and became a Vice President of the Student Association of Paralegals and Legal Assistants.
With her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills, she has become one of the most valuable members of our team managing multiple cases simultaneously while still providing each client with the attention and care they deserve. Antonella's areas of expertise include Paternity cases, the SIJ process, Guardianship, Divorce, and more. She has a deep understanding of the legal system and is committed to ensuring that our clients receive the best possible representation inside and outside the court.
Xo’s background working in family and criminal law serves our team well with her focus on divorce, paternity, custody and adoption matters. Xo’s relentless pursuit to find answers and solutions for our clients’ unique situations make her invaluable. Her attention to excellent customer service when our clients are dealing with emotional life changes provides them with the support they need.
Xo graduated with honors with an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies in Wisconsin before relocating to Northeastern Oklahoma to pursue her bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in American Sign Language Studies. While in school Xo volunteered weekly with pro bono legal clinics. Her ongoing commitment to learning combined with her work experience make her an integral part of our team.
When she is not working hard to assist our clients, you can find Xo spending time with family and friends or playing video games. She also volunteers regularly with Tulsa’s The Center, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services. She enjoys attending silent dinners and silent coffee chats in the Tulsa area with members of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community.
Eliana is the backbone of support for the Schmook Law team. She manages all incoming and outgoing mail, court runs, engaging our process server and maintaining our filing system. Eliana is Sara Schmook’s right hand in all guardian ad litem and court appointed cases. Eliana provides the support we need to provide our high level of customer service.
In her free time Eliana enjoys spending time with her family and in particular her children. She strives to provide a very happy home them. Eliana greets everyone daily with a smile and great attitude.
Often your first point of contact with our legal team, Ari Sanchez greets each caller with compassion and care for their legal matters. She provides another bilingual option so she successfully communicates with all of our current and potential clients.With a strong passion for helping clients and providing them with the best possible experience when interacting with the legal team, Ari is responsible for addressing clients' concerns, answering queries, and providing solutions to any issues that may arise.
